-Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres (Island of Women) is a small island that is located a short distance off the coast of the northeast of the Yucatán Peninsula in the Caribbean Sea. It is about 13 km northeast of Cancun. The island is some 7 km long and 650 meters wide. The feel here is calm, without the noisy feel of Cancun.
Tropical beaches lie all around Isla Mujeres. Playa Norte (North Beach) is the most popular beach on the island and is easy to get to. You simply walk west until you hit the beach. The coastline kind of curves which is why you go west to hit the north beach.
Isla Mujeres is located close to one of many coral reefs, and the area is popular for its snorkeling and scuba diving. Another popular attraction on the islands eastern side is Garrafon Reef Park which provides numerous water activities.
