Cancun is a coastal city in Mexico's easternmost state, Quintana Roo, on the Yucatan Peninsula. Cancun is located on the Yucatan Channel that separates Mexico from the island of Cuba. It is a very popular vacation spot on the Caribbean coast.

There is much to do in the city and the warm white beaches with crystal clear water, are probably one of the main reasons for your visit. In Cancun, you will also find world-class hotels, restaurants and nightlife.

The "Zona Hotelera" or Tourist Zone, a narrow island, about 14 miles long, is the area of Cancun where it all comes together for most visitors. Hotels and beachfront condominiums line the beaches and serve as the nearly uninterrupted backdrop along this stretch of incredible Caribbean coastline. The Caribbean Sea is unusually warm with incredibly blue water and at most times is very calm.

The temperature of the city is warm and tropical. Depending on the season, maximum temperatures range from 26 °C (78.8 °F) in January to 32 °C (90 °F) in June. More temperate conditions occur from November to February and it is hottest from April to September.

Peak season in Cancun tends to run from December to April. Prices in both airfare and hotel increase dramatically during these times.
